FELIX AUSTRIA! is Christine’s feature documentary directorial debut. Her film premiered at HotDocs in 2013 and is distributed by Dark Hollow Films. When American scholar Felix Pfeifle inherits 60 years of letters between unlikely penpals, everyday American Herbert Hinkel and the last heir of the Holy Roman Emperors, Felix begins the journey of a lifetime: to reach the source of the correspondence, the aging Archduke Otto von Habsburg himself. Meanwhile time is running out on another end–Felix’s father is dying of Huntington’s Disease, an incurable genetic disease that he has a 50 percent chance of developing. Felix seeks to connect with a past that has been pushed aside by history – before it’s too late.
